The laboratory
Klimeo®, a high technology concentrate

Microcapsules containing a natural temperature-regulating ingredient are applied in and on the fabric using a unique, specially-developed equipment: Polectron.

The temperature-regulating ingredient undergoes a phase change depending on the outer temperature: it is solid in a cold environment and liquid when warm.

This property enables Klimeo® to compensate for swings in temperature, guaranteeing comfort and well-being to everyone wearing this “intelligent” new generation of clothing.

Because it is invisible to the naked eye, Klimeo® does not change the fabric’s properties or aspect, which can always be adapted to the latest fashion trends.

Klimeo® retains its qualities and remains just as efficient even after machine washing or dry-cleaning. A patent application has been filed for Klimeo® which also meets the ecological requirements of the Öko-Tex Standard 100.

Let`s try two experiments

¹ → The ice-cubes:
Take two identical ice-cubes and place one on some Klimeo® fabric and the other on some conventional, non-Klimeo® fabric, keeping both at a temperature of 34°C*.

When the Klimeo® microcapsules “feel” the cold (the ice), they change phase, becoming solid and releasing heat. We can see that the ice placed on the Klimeo® fabric melts more rapidly than the cube placed on the conventional fabric.

² → The cold-spray aerosol:
One sample of Klimeo® fabric and another of non-Klimeo® fabric, each connected to a heat sensor, are kept at a temperature of 34°C*. A cold-spray aerosol causes both samples to drop significantly in temperature.

After five seconds of exposure to the cold, the sensor connected to the Klimeo® fabric displays a much higher temperature, with a difference of 20°C between the two samples.

The opposite also occurs when the temperature of both fabric samples is raised significantly.
